This is not interesting to everyone. But if your tech friendly, this page is for you.
The main thing I think is important is:
MUSIC SOURCE
I use two laptops, a 160 gig Ipod and a CD player.
I have about 100,000 songs in my library.
Plus I have a Sprint Air Card, which allows me to have high speed internet access anywhere there is a sprint cell phone signal (just about anywhere in the US). This allows me to go to Itunes and get any song you request if it is not already in my library.
SOUND SYSTEM
I use a 3 speaker system with a 400 watt sub woofer.
This allows the other 2 speakers to only have to deal with the mid and high frequency signal and let the bass go through a dedicated sub woofer. I can give you as much or as little bass as you can handle and not-over drive and distort the rest of the music.
LIGHTS
I have awesome lights that go from very subtle for the dinner set to full blown club like light show for the end of the evening.

The B-52 MATRIX-1000 V2 Speaker System includes 2 - 10" 2-way powered satellites and a dedicated powered 15" subwoofer. The MATRIX-1000 V2 has a built-in 3-channel 700W power amplifier, 3 independent volume controls, electronic crossover with equalization, and VCA compressor.
The circuitry is designed and fine-tuned to integrate all components for the best possible sound. There is no need to tweak or finesse settings on a crossover or compressor to make your system sound great. Simply roll the system into place on its heavy duty casters, plug in the AC, connect the two speaker cables, run two XLR cables to your mixer and you're ready to go
Built-in 3-channel amplifier
The 15" subwoofer enclosure is divided into two separate compartments. The front chamber serves as the cabinet for the 15" subwoofer. The rear chamber houses all of the system's electronic circuitry, which includes the amplification for all three components, power supply and preamps. The 15" subwoofer has a power handling capability of 400 watts and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.
10" satellite speakers
The MATRIX-1000V2 satellites are loaded with a custom designed 10" speaker and 1" titanium diaphragm compression driver. The horn" is a 90 x 60 elliptical waveguide that can be rotated 90° to optimize the dispersion pattern to best suit your particular application. These versatile speakers are pole-mountable and can sit as stage monitors. They also include 3/8" 16 tpi flying hardware for small venue permanent installations. The rounded front of the satellite speaker is a perfect fit for the convex face of the subwoofer, allowing you to stack, roll and transport the entire MATRIX-1000V2 in and out of a venue in record time.
Transporting the system
To transport the MATRIX-1000 V2, simply set the subwoofer on its casters and place the satellite speakers on to the subwoofer's front panel, facing down. Fasten the satellites with the included locking strap using the handles on either side of the subwoofer cabinet. Place the included cover over the entire system and you're ready to move the MATRIX-1000 V2 with ease.

I first heard this system in the B52 warehouse and thought it sounded great...the low-end really filled up that cavernous space! I begged and pleaded and they finally let me take one home to write this review! First of all, it’s a fairly compact unit with built-in casters for easy moving...and with the cover on it looks more like a rack rather than a speaker system.
Let’s talk about the physical properties first; The subwoofer is the largest piece of this set, measuring 28”x19”x23” standing on the wheels and weighing in at 115 pounds...while this is a substantial amount of weight, it’s on wheels and you can roll it and lay-it-over fairly easily...I haven’t actually had to lift it yet. The satellites are nice, compact units, 10” woofers with a horn measuring 19”x12”x11” standing upright for use. They are meant to be pole mounted. Let’s start by putting your pre-conceived notions aside because 150 watts to each top and 400 watts for the sub is more than enough power to cover many, many gigs. The strap that holds everything together for transport needs some refinement...it’s weak and doesn’t hold as securely as it should, the tops will shift a little in transport...but I was assured that this would be addressed soon. Inputs are via XLR and signal can be sent back out to other units for multiple sets from the same feed...the tops are fed through Nuetrik Speakons. All levels are adjustable on the rear of the subwoofer, (which lays down flat for use, exposing the controls). The satellites are trapezoidal sort of shape and can also been used as stage monitors. The whole thing fits inside a padded cover. There are no pockets for the power cable, (*standard EIC type), or speaker cables, but you can roll them up under the strap before securing it.
The first outing for these was a company party on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, if you’ve ever played there you know what the load-in is like...bumps, gangways, freight elevators, ramps, small passageways...it’s a Ship! We were in the Capstan Room, which is at the rear of the vessel and was originally the room where the anchor chains and ropes were brought through to their respective storage areas below decks, large capstans are still installed through-out but now have tabletops on them. The ceiling is very low and the room is very obstructed due to it’s industrial design...I suppose they never imagined it’d be used for parties! By placing the satellites strategically so one pointed across the ship to the other side, I was able to cover the entire seating area well enough for all announcements and interactivity to be heard and experienced, while keeping most of the sound localized for dancing later. Excellent performance for 200 party guests and compliments on the sound!
Next they went to a large ballroom at the Sheraton Resort for another company party. We set up on the long wall of a rectangular room with a fairly large dance floor in front of us, (about 32x21), with tables going out on either side and the buffet directly ahead of us...standard high ceilings. Cocktail music was full-sounding and coverage at low volume was fantastic...when we pumped it up for dancing, we had the whole place rocking and the folks in the corners could still chat! Great party, great crowd...300 happy people!
After a couple receptions, a coming-out party (with 350 in attendance) and several other productions, (you’ll see them in Scott Faver’s new interactive DVD), I never had cause to wish I’d brought more...there was plenty of deep, low bass; the mids and highs were clear and crisp. I can honestly and unreservedly recommend the Matrix 1000 as a valuable tool for the mobile DJ looking for the most bang for the buck in a versatile and powerful system either as a main system for most of your gigs or as backup to a larger operation. B52 has definitely scored a home-run with this one!

| This device does the same job as my AirCard, but much more elegantly. It is much smaller, and as you can see from the photo above it has a built-in microSD port so you can add (currently) up to 4GB of RAM for extra storage. When I travel now, I not only have my AirCard but also carry along a USB Flash Drive with all of my course materials on it. With the U727, all that could be dome with one small and sleek device. The U727 simply plugs into a USB port and has a small antenna that flips up.
Like the 595U (left, above), the U727 (right, above) has a built-in GPS receiver. Unfortunately, Sprint has chosen to provide GPS-enabled applications only for Windows users. Those of us who are Mac-lovers are once again left out in the cold with these nice features. I did get a chance to try some of the GPS apps - it’s nice to be able to tap a few buttons and find out where the local restaurants, hotels, and other locations are, or get directions from your PC. I guess that’s why I have a standalone GPS (Garmin nüvi 660) for traveling. I ran the U727 from a Windows Vista virtual machine on my MacBook and it worked beautifully.
One feature I really like is the included Notebook Monitor Clip. This lets you clip the U727 to the top or side of your laptop screen - very useful in crowded locations. The 595U has a USB cable and separate stand, but it’s just not as handy as this clip. I guess I’ll need to see if I can cobble something together for the 595U!
Download and upload speeds were identical to what I experienced with the 595U, which is not surprising. Sprint’s EV-DO network is outstanding and quite widespread. The only place I’ve been where I couldn’t get a signal was on the Mississippi River somewhere in Iowa, well away from any population centers.

| Two words could describe this laptop by themselves, sleek and polished. Right out the first thing you notice about this laptop is the polished outside display cover surface, and the lack of any sharp or non-rounded edges. Opening up the laptop you notice the glossy indicator light panel, glossy screen, clear plastic covers over the Harmon/Kardon speakers, and control buttons that blend in with the upper control panel. Fit and finish has gone a long way to make this laptop stand out, and it shows on every square inch of this model. One downside to the glossy finish though is it shows fingerprints, blemishes, and strange marks if you carry it around even inside a slipcase. My model after being carried around inside my neoprene case had odd dots on the glossy finish, along with palm prints covering the top.

| Real video hounds want lots of space for their movies, shows, and podcasts, and Apple's latest $349 iPod Classic 160 Gigabyte(GB) truly delivers: It'll hold 40,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or 200 hours of video, all while having a smaller form factor than its predecessors. Sure, it's no iPod Touch with it's big screen and slim form, but that sexier arriviste only has 16-gigabytes of memory, hardly enough for much more than a few hours of video. Capacity aside, the revamped and upsized iPod classic has a lot of other new additions besides size: Apple has added a handy search function, as well as Cover Flow, which allows you to flip through 3-D album-art renditions of your music and video library. If the video hound in your life orders at least a couple of TV shows or video podcasts off of iTunes a week, he or she will be delighted with the 160-gigabyte iPod Classic (at least until the next and bigger iPod classic comes out).
